Social Responsibility

Fazenda Rio Monapo employs around 600 people and is a significant contributor to the economic growth in the area. It is one of the largest employers in the Nampula Province.

The Company provides lunch for all employees. The farm runs its own vegetable garden, which produces stable and healthy food on a big enough scale to secure a daily meal for all.

Employees can also buy vegetables for their own households.

Fazenda Rio Monapo is implementing a policy of primarily employing people from the surrounding communities as well as promoting the employment of women, as this has a direct positive socio-economic impact while creating stability in the area.

Employees receive comprehensive training and education as part of their employment. Training and professional development activities include both practical and theoretical training, regular production meetings with employees, and literacy training is promoted where necessary.

The farm implements health awareness campaigns for both employees and their families and takes an active role in supporting and contributing to the social and cultural life of the local communities.

The company has participated in activities in the local communities such as the construction of wells for clean water, maintenance of access roads to communities, and repair of community buildings.
